Supported by the National Lottery Community Fund, the project will create a community fruit and vegetable grow area to encourage the young community to attend workshops to learn how to grow their own food, cook their own food and create recipes for a new community cookbook. Children and young people will be able to gain digital achievement badges as they engage in the project.
The community grow area will be based on the grounds of Cookley Sebright Primary School, but once created will also host of range of community activities for local children, young people, families and community groups – including intergenerational activities.
We will be seeking further sponsorship to produce recipe cards to be made available free of charge to the local community.
